Moonlight Charm Table Runner

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Here’s a quick post about my latest project

The Moonlight Charm Table Runner

I absolutely love being able to create beautiful works with fabric to match a personality, decor, or theme. I also love to gift my creations to others.  I am sad to say this is one that will be hard to gift but I will.

I began with a charm pack and a mini charm  of Nocturne by Janet Clare for Moda Fabrics.  I originally purchased the charm pack from my LQS and when I went back to get another they were sold out!  So I grabbed the last remaining mini charm pack and a bit of beautiful golden Cloud9 organic cotton.

It’s safe to say that I am in love with this golden-yellow!  I started with 4.5″ half square triangles made using the charm pack and 4 square blocks with the mini.

As usual I did not have much of a plan going in so some time was spent working and fiddling with the layout.  I even posted with the girls in my quilting bee and asked for some feed back, I got some great advice.  With my original layout I had a bit of a rough time spreading out the dark.  Lovely Janda grabbed my original picture and  edited it to black and white.  That made my dark pop and put everything into perspective.  How did I not know to do this before?!!??  I love technology! Thank you again Janda!

Look at all that dark hanging out together!!

Finally I had to hand quilt this piece.  It was the only quilting my mind would let me see, so I went for it and love the detail and texture it adds.  The back is so perfect!

It will be off to its new home this weekend along with a pillow for the new dining bench!

Thanks for hanging out today

Happy creativity,

Rebecca ♦
