My first finish for October,
Is this sweet mini quilt! I’m calling her pumpkin patch.
I have so many projects going right now, like who doesn’t, but when I remembered my mother in laws birthday is tomorrow!! So… What’s one more project, right?
As with many of us the fall, halloween, pumpkin season is one of her favorites so when I saw this quilt block on Pinterest (you can find my halloween board there) I knew it would make a perfect mini quilt for display through the fall season.
I had fun picking oranges. Seems for some reason I had none on hand, I added a bit of green and brown and pulled the background from my stash.
Each block starts with 6 strips and a some background. I love how well the polka dots high-lite the orange strips.
The blocks for this come together so quickly, this mini is a perfect weekend sew. With the fat quarters I collected I have plenty extra materials so I had to make one for our home. I don’t know about you but I seem to never get around to sewing/creating for us. That’s something I am definitely changing.
The block pattern is free and can be found here. I simply made 4 for each mini and cut my sashing and boarder strips at 2″ width. Backed and bound and ready to show off for the season.
